The Selous Game Reserve is internationally recognized as one of the best areas of operation in Africa. Poaching in the reserve is minimal and animals, including elephants, are thriving. The Selous Game Reserve is a giant with only a small portion of the park, which is used for photo safaris and another part is used for> Hunting safari. Many people, myself included, have trouble understanding that hunting safari is a good thing for storage. But if it were not for the Selous safari hunting would be a desert without animals.

Hunting success was behind the deepening Selous, which is rapidly becoming an industry that is the place to watch the game during a safari in Africa. The reserve has suffered greatly from poaching in late 1970 and most of1980.

Disaster in 1973 when the government of Tanzania has given way – under heavy international pressure – a ban on hunting in the Selous.
